Does the flood barrier provide complete protection in the event of flooding

Although flood barriers can play a protective role to a certain extent, they do not completely guarantee that floodwaters will not cause damage to the building. In the event of a flood, flood barriers can reduce the impact of floodwaters on the building, slow down the rate of invasion of floodwaters, and buy time for the evacuation of people and the transfer of property. However, if the water level of the floodwater exceeds the height of the flood barriers or the impact of the floodwater is too great, the flood barriers may be broken or damaged, thus losing their protective effect.
Therefore, in the event of flooding, apart from installing flood barriers, other measures should also be taken, such as strengthening the structure of the building, improving the flood resistance of the building, and formulating contingency plans, in order to minimize the damage caused by flooding to the building.
